There are many kinds of conveyor systems, from pneumatic conveyors to gravity conveyors. Here are a few systems and why they might be the right choice for you. 

Live Roller Conveyors

Live roller conveyors are used for transporting general goods. They are good for transferring packages, which is why you may see these systems in post offices and similar facilities. Boxes and other items literally roll down the rollers until they get to their final destinations. 

Belt Conveyors

Like live roller conveyors, belt conveyors are usually used for package handling. They may also be used for raw material handling or for handling small parts, since there are no gaps on the belt for small parts to fall through. A good example of a belt conveyor is the small moving belt at the grocery store checkout. This is a mini-version of a conveyor belt system, and it's used to move a small amount of products from one place to another. 

Zero Pressure Conveyors

For high throughput, a zero-pressure conveyor can be of help. It is most commonly used by distribution centers, and it can handle products that come in a number of weights or sizes. 

Pneumatic Conveyors

Pneumatic conveyors are under pressure. They literally vacuum or suck items from one place to another. For instance, if a gas is being held inside a pressurized system, it may be pressured to move into a new chamber of the conveyor by changing the pressure settings on system. Another example in everyday life would be something like a hamster water bottle. It's holding water without dripping, but as soon as pressure is released on the long nozzle by pressing the ball joint inward, the water is released. This is essentially how a pneumatic conveyor works, just on a much larger scale. They're best if the substances inside need to be held tightly without leaks. They are dust-tight to prevent contamination. 

Pallet Conveyors

Another important kind of conveyor system is a pallet conveyor. These are best for heavy loads, ad they used heavy-duty rollers or drag chains to move items from one place to another. They may be motorized to help move items.
